Fully Featured X++ Development in VS Code, Enhanced with Copilot and MCP

I recently came across F&O Studio for VS Code , a new Visual Studio Code extension that aims to bring a surprisingly complete Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations development experience directly into VS Code. The extension includes Application Explorer, element designers, X++ code editing, builds, deployment, debugging capabilities, security analysis and, most interestingly AI agent tools through MCP. Getting started Install F&O Studio for VS Code from the Visual Studio Marketplace, then open the X++ view in VS Code and use Connect to Environment to connect to your Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Unified Developer Environment.  Once connected, you can start exploring Application Explorer, open or create a D365FO project, work with X++ and metadata, and begin experimenting with the development capabilities directly from VS Code. F&O Studio for VS Code can also be installed from Microsoft Marketplace: F&O Studio for VS Code Once installed and connected, ...

Project Perception: Where Agentic Security Fits in Microsoft's AI Ecosystem

Over the last couple of years, most of the conversation around enterprise AI has focused on productivity and building agents. Microsoft 365 Copilot helps employees work with information. Copilot Studio allows organizations to build business agents. Microsoft Foundry gives developers a much deeper engineering platform for building AI applications, models, agents, tools and workflows. But there is another side to this story. Who is protecting this increasingly agentic enterprise? As organizations introduce AI into Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, HR, Operations and other business functions, security also needs to evolve. This is where Microsoft Security and Microsoft's new Project Perception become particularly interesting. Project Perception represents Microsoft's move from security AI that primarily assists security professionals toward an agentic security system that can reason and act across the security environment. Microsoft describes it as a workforce of specialized Re...

How Copilot, Cowork, and Copilot Studio Work Together

Most conversations start with "Should we use Copilot?" But that's a bit like asking "Should we use software?" The real question is: What outcome are we trying to achieve?  Over the past few months, I've been exploring Microsoft's enterprise AI ecosystem and have found that many people use the terms Copilot , Cowork , and Copilot Studio interchangeably. In reality, they represent three very different layers of value. Copilot helps people do work, Cowork does work on behalf of people, and Copilot Studio enables organizations to build AI agents tailored to their business. Together, they form a progressive AI operating model that moves from productivity, to automation, to enterprise-scale agent development. What I find most interesting is how these capabilities build upon each other. Microsoft 365 Copilot sits closest to the employee, helping create content, summarize discussions, analyze information, and improve day-to-day productivity. Cowork then raises ...

Getting Started with Microsoft 365 Copilot agents - A Phased Approach

Getting started with Microsoft 365 Copilot agents can transform how your organization leverages AI to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and empower employees to build intelligent solutions. This blog outlines a phased approach—starting with forming a champion team, training employees, and scaling deployment—to help your organization confidently adopt Copilot Studio’s Agent Builder.  To start empowering employees to create and manage Microsoft 365 Copilot agents securely at scale, it is recommended that a three-phase approach is taken:  Form an "agent adoption champion" team within IT and try out Agent Builder. Train employees to build agents with Agent Builder. Provide selected employees with access to Agent Builder and set up pay-go meters.  Phase I – Form a team Step 1: Create an "agent adoption champion" team  Select a group of early adopters (your "champion team”) to explore building agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio Agent Builder in Microsoft...

Why Copilot (Bing Chat Enterprise) Outshines ChatGpt, Bard, and Bing Chat for Enterprise Data Protection

AI chatbots are becoming more popular and powerful, enabling users to get instant answers, find creative inspiration, learn something new, and collaborate with generative AI. However, not all chatbots are created equal, especially when it comes to security.  In today's digital landscape, where data is the lifeblood of every organization, security reigns supreme. While AI-powered language models like ChatGPT and Google Bard offer exciting capabilities, their open-source nature can raise concerns for security-conscious businesses. Enter Copilot Enterprise , Microsoft's paid solution, designed to address these concerns head-on and empower organizations with secure, enterprise-grade AI assistance. In this blog post, we will compare three of the most prominent AI chatbots: Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI ChatGPT, and Google Bard, and discuss why Copilot (Enterprise ) is the best choice for security-conscious users and organizations . What are Copilot, ChatGPT, and Bard? Copilot, ChatGPT...
